As we step into 2025, we’re excited to shine a light on the Veterans who enrich our community. Throughout the year, we’ll be sharing their stories—exploring their military journeys, the roles they served, and the choices that shaped them into the remarkable individuals they are today. Join us as we honor their service and celebrate their impact both in and out of uniform. ???? This month, we’re proud to highlight a dedicated member of our community who has honorably served in the Air Force and the US Army Reserves for over 30 years, Dr. Reginald Eggleston. Starting his military journey as the first in his family to serve, he attended Officer Candidate School (OCS) to become an officer, choosing the Reserves, over active duty to balance his military aspirations with a civilian career. Throughout his service, he has skillfully managed dual careers—currently serving as a Colonel in the Army Reserves, while also leading as Superintendent for USD 475. His military experience has proven invaluable in his role, helping him connect with and support military families in the district. While frequent deployments posed significant challenges during his career, his perseverance led to incredible opportunities, including a prestigious assignment at the Pentagon. As he approaches retirement, he reflects on how difficult it will be to transition out of military life after such a long and impactful career. Until then, he remains committed to serving his country and community with the same dedication that has defined his life’s work. We thank him for his remarkable service and unwavering commitment to both his military and civilian roles!
